What is the yukon flag?

The Yukon flag was officially adopted on March 1, 1968, with the design selected from a territory-wide competition. The flag features a blue field with the territorial coat of arms in the center. The coat of arms includes a red shield with a cross of Saint George and a dogwood flower. The crest on top of the shield is a Malamute dog, which was used for transportation in the region. The wavy white and blue lines on the shield represent the rivers and lakes in the territory. The flag also includes a white five-pointed star, which represents the North Star, and the Yukon’s location in Northern Canada. The flag is flown alongside the Canadian flag in the territory.
